Ichijinsha gateau comics “Shiawase ni Naru no sa!” — let me introduce this title!

The following is quoted from the back cover. This review does touch on the story’s content! If you just want a quick summary!! I’d be happy if you read only the red text and highlighted sections.

“They say only fools get hurt when they trust… but that’s a lie.” …―――――

The protagonist, Toma Komatsu, was drowning his sorrows in alcohol after a friend ran off with money he had lent him. On his way home, he encounters Ayumu Nanbara, a man holding a lonely drinking session alone in the park.

Ayumu’s binge drinking is due to a heartbreak—and the other person was a “man”…――――.

The love that blossomed between the two who met by chance grows little by little, gradually becoming stronger.

From Ichijinsha gateau comics “Shiawase ni Naru no sa!”

This is the incredibly cute and wonderful work that made me fall head over heels for Kumonosuke-sensei (^^). The art style and color palette are gentle, with soft lines, yet the characters’ emotions run deep, immersing you in a unique feeling. Above all, my favorite protagonist, Komatsu-kun, is far too good-natured, and the story begins with him being betrayed by a friend. Heart-wrenching…!! Just as he’s grappling with his own sense of self, he meets his love interest, Nanbara-kun. His hilarious first appearance scene had me laughing because of his emotional instability (Nanbara-kun is just too cute). Despite being able to express such intense emotions, he also has a slightly shy side. Ah—so cute.

Nanbara-kun’s inner conflict as he is gradually won over by the gap-filled kindness of Komatsu-kun

They immediately open up about their hurt hearts upon meeting, and spend time together with a cozy sleepover. Nothing but healing. Absolutely perfect. The next day, Komatsu-kun proposes to Nanbara-kun that they try dating. All Komatsu-kun fans, brace yourselves. (Be careful—you’ll be hit by the sudden gap appeal!)

As they go on more dates and spend time together, Nanbara-kun begins to struggle with his sense of self, thinking daily about what he can do and how he can give back. Komatsu-kun envelops him in his unconsciously immense love. The fact that the bar they frequent is the same, and the master and staff giving perfect little assists, offers plenty of small interactions that are deeply comforting (^^).

The two wounded hearts becomeeach other’ssource of healing

So that both are respected, readers can also feel healed as they continue reading, making this a perfect work to pick up especially when you’re feeling a bit down (^^). Looking back on it, its healing effect makes it a great read before going to sleep…!!
