I’d like to introduce Gentosha BIRZ COMICS RUTILE COLLECTION 『Higasa-chan Vol. 1』!

The following is quoted from the back cover. This article includes impressions, reviews, and references to the story’s content! If you just want a quick overview, I’d be happy if you read only the red, highlighted parts.

『The reason why *Higasa no Kimi* always carries a parasol is…』―――――

For certain reasons, Minato, who lives with his grandfather, is helped out when he’s in trouble by Seth, a grown man who carries a women’s parasol. Seth is something of a local celebrity, and through this encounter, Minato gradually begins to spend more time with him, the two slowly growing closer. For some reason, Seth—always holding his parasol—calls Minato “『Higasa-chan』”…―――――?

This is the work where I first discovered Techno Samata-sensei (^^). The summery atmosphere and Seth’s refreshing presence, along with the slightly mysterious story behind the parasol, are truly captivating. As for Minato, the hints about what happened in his past quietly weigh on your heart.

A trigger that could have happened to anyone is slowly cornering Minato. This part can be painful to read, but how he emotionally receives it—and how he chooses to move forward—is what makes it so compelling. It honestly made me pause and let out a quiet “wow” (pure reflex).

“Kakuhan” (stir / agitate) is such a difficult kanji…!!

There are just too many things to be curious about!! Since this story is only Volume 1, I can’t wait to see what will happen in Volume 2 (^^)
