Below is a quote from the back cover. The impressions and review touch on the story’s content! If you just want a quick overview of what it’s about!! I’d be happy if you could read only the red text and highlighted sections.

“I want to get closer and touch you more” …―――――

Isumi Sakuraba, a college student who is insecure about his short height and youthful face, is mistaken for a minor and nearly taken in by Police officer Amasawa.

Isumi manages to clear up the misunderstanding by showing his student ID, but a few days later, he runs into Amasawa again at the convenience store where he works part-time…. Amasawa, who is stationed at a nearby police box, becomes a regular customer and asks for late-night snack recommendations every time they meet.

Thinking he was an “annoying guy” because of his overly familiar attitude, Isumi still can’t help but worry about Amasawa’s eating habits, and blurts out, “Want me to come over and cook for you?” Before he knows it, he ends up heading to Amasawa’s place to make him a home-cooked meal―――!?

From ICHIJINSHA gateau Comics “Sugar Dog Life”

This is the work that introduced me to Yoriko-sensei, and I fell deep, hopelessly into the abyss. Please save me…!! (^^) I already sensed I was doomed the moment I saw a police officer in uniform, but the more I read, the more I enjoyed the comical back-and-forth between the effortlessly charming Amasawa-san and Sakuraba-kun, who’s actually quite the caretaker at heart! First of all, I have to say—I was already writhing in agony over the way their fingertips gently touch on the cover (the best…!!). And the tie!! Whew——!!! (Delivering this with maximum excitement.) I absolutely love situations where a confident-looking uke grabs the seme’s belongings—or even part of his clothing—with a firm grip…!!! No matter how many times I encounter it, it always feels like an irresistible, bonus-level surprise. I can’t get enough!!

The deadly combo of short height and a baby face is just too much…!!

While the protagonist’s complexes are a matter of life and death to him personally, from a reader’s perspective, I honestly feel they’re talents he was born with!! (purely my personal opinion.) Sakuraba-kun, a college student, belongs to a cooking club and lives on his own. His two friends tend to be overprotective of him, and he also has a lonely side to him… Cute. One day, after drinking a bit too much at a club get-together, Sakuraba-kun runs into Amasawa-san on his way home.

The height difference and body size gap are perfection!!!

When Amasawa-san is in his police uniform, he has his bangs swept up, but when he’s in his casual clothes, he wears his bangs down… for someone like me who’s weak to gaps like that, it’s pure bliss (^^). That said, Amasawa-san is incredibly good at closing the distance with people. If he can make friends that quickly, no wonder he’s popular… amazing… As someone who’s socially awkward (myself included), it’s honestly astonishing. Sakuraba-kun, too, gets all flustered around Amasawa-san. It makes your heart race… he’s adorable with metaphorical flowers practically floating around him. It’s not calculated cuteness, but rather a soft, gentle kind of adorableness (lack of vocabulary). So this is the power of soothing, heartwarming healing…!!

Due to an unexpected incident, he ends up staying over…

Just as the two of them start to grow closer, a plumbing issue occurs at the apartment where Sakuraba-kun lives, and he unexpectedly ends up staying over at Amasawa-san’s place. Like—does that really happen…?! It’s suggested and accepted so naturally, and by this point, maybe Sakuraba-kun’s heart was already starting to flutter….

Watching the choices the two of them make, Sakuraba-kun’s adorably direct, physical approach is just too cute, and it’s a work that fills you with happiness as you read, so I really hope you’ll give it a try (^^).
