This “hopeless” handsome guy is just too good…!!!

This is the work that introduced me to Suzaka-sensei (^^). I’ve always loved stories about office workers, and while searching to see what kinds of titles were out there, I came across this one—and the glasses × salaryman combination is just perfect…!! On top of that, seeing Todo, who is cool and a hardcore top-only type, getting completely thrown off balance after being asked for advice by Naoto, the uke is far too entertaining (and just a little pitiable)…!!! The one seeking advice is Naoto, a brother-obsessed, “hopeless” handsome guy. He can handle all the housework and is known as an office heartthrob, which makes the contrast even more striking. It’s absolutely packed with highlights (^^)

With a portrayal that makes it easy to empathize from any character’s perspective, I was able to take my time and immerse myself deeply in the story. In fact, Todo himself is grappling with some intense inner conflict, while Naoto becomes severely shaken upon realizing that his younger brother has a male partner, spiraling into endless worries and losing the ability to hear the voices around him. (At this point, Naoto’s overprotectiveness sends him completely off the rails, and the way his thoughts go just slightly off-track is honestly adorable…!!)

Trying earnestly to face the situation yet still somehow slightly off in his approach, Naoto ends up unknowingly sending mixed signals ( and I mean that as a compliment ), until at last Todo blurts out the feelings he has long kept hidden for Naoto. From this point on, the story keeps you on edge the entire time—I was so anxious about what would happen next that I found myself racing through the pages in no time.

When you finally realize the feelings you’ve tried to keep hidden for so many years…

Personally, I think that confessing feelings you’ve tried to keep hidden for many years takes an incredible amount of courage—and honestly, what moves me even more is the background that led someone to hide those feelings in the first place. I’m sure Todo also reached his decision after going through countless inner struggles. Because that process is depicted with such care and attention, the story draws you in deeply.
