TAKESHOBO BAMBOO COMICS moment “My Policeman” will be introduced!

The following is quoted from the back cover. This review does touch on the story’s content! If you just want a quick overview!! I’d be happy if you read only the red text and highlighted sections.

“Maybe I should switch to guys…” …―――――

Running a small shop, Seiji Tajima remains single thanks to his thoroughly laid-back, careless personality. Frequently visiting his shop—which can hardly be called bustling—is a tall police officer named Shin Nakamoto.

It’s been over ten years since Seiji and Shin first met. The two hadn’t even kept in touch for years, but they reunite when Shin is assigned to work at a nearby police box. Since then, their relationship continues much the same as it always was, but…

“Maybe I should switch to guys.”

A casual remark Seiji lets slip ends up igniting Shin’s long-suppressed feelings…!?

An unpredictable, first-love-like age-gap romance woven by a spin-off couple from the debut work “Innocent Puppy and the Wolf in Cat’s Clothing”!

From BAMBOO COMICS moment “My Policeman”

Highly recommended for anyone who loves police uniforms, body size differences, and age-gap romances!!

This is the work that introduced me to Niyama-sensei, and from the cover alone—with that wonderful scene of the two gazing at each other—it was already a feast for the eyes (^^). The interactions between the somewhat middle-aged protagonist Seiji-san and Shin-kun, who has carried a long, unrequited love for years, make you smile—only for Shin to suddenly close in with a distinctly masculine expression…!! My heart can’t take it… I never realized that adding an age gap to a body size difference could amplify the appeal this much (purely my personal take, of course).

Whether a long-held unrequited love feels heavy, or comes across as a strong sense of attachment is the core of this story. It’s a work that personally hits me right where I live, with “dotingly devoted love” and “(consensual) obsession”. The setting at the start of summer also lets you savor a gentle, lingering sense of the season, which makes it all the better. I especially recommend it to anyone who loves uniforms, hierarchical relationships within organizations, and senior–junior dynamics (^^).

A certain incident from the past that became the turning point which changed Shin-kun himself

The story rewinds to the time when the two first met. Back when Seiji-san was still a police officer, he had already crossed paths with a slightly cheeky, student-aged Shin-kun. Even then, Shin-kun’s tall stature and solid build were starting to stand out, making him a target for delinquents. From that time on, Seiji-san was seen by Shin-kun as an unusual adult who never looked down on him or held any prejudice, and Seiji-san’s genuine kindness really shines through in hindsight. So good (^^). Shin-kun in his student days, still carrying traces of youthful innocenceis simply irresistible.

Their peaceful daily life suddenly takes a turn when delinquents who had been watching Shin start harassing him, and just as he’s about to be beaten, Seiji-san rushes in. Is he a hero arriving in a moment of crisis!? Way too cool…!! Kind and caring as he is, Seiji-san abruptly quits being a police officer and disappears from Shin’s life. From that point on, the feelings Shin tried to suppress and erase never truly faded—not even over the course of ten long years.

Will Shin-kun’s earnest and heartfelt unrequited love finally come to fruition? It’s a story overflowing with emotion that I truly want you to experience firsthand, so please give it a read…!! (^^)
