This was the work through which I first discovered Harusono-sensei, and it was a title that had me on edge every time a new chapter was updated on pixiv, constantly eager to know what would happen next! I remember buying it immediately as soon as I heard it was being released as a comic—it’s a story that completely pulled me into the heart of youth!! I was also intrigued by how having a fudanshi as the protagonist felt refreshingly rare, and on top of that, the “delinquent × baby-faced” combination left me with no choice but to read. You could say my intuition kicked into high gear (maybe?) as I kept turning the pages.

The story progresses in easy-to-read four-panel strips, and Miyano’s friends have such strong, distinctive personalities… love it (＾＾)

The back view of Sasaki-senpai as he steps in to break up a fight at school is incredibly cool, but once you actually talk to him, he turns out to be a joking, teasing, and somehow hard-to-pin-down presence… and then, unbelievably, comes the development where Miyano’s fudanshi secret is exposed. If it were me, I’d be breaking out in a cold sweat, but the friends around the protagonist are all kind people who don’t reject him at all and instead accept him for who he is. And they’re not just kind—their emotional generosity and the sincere, thoughtful way they relate to others are so wonderful that your tear ducts might loosen and threaten to give way, so please be careful…!! (May you withstand the impact that makes your chest tighten.)

I want to know what the person I like loves, so I can close the distance between us.

So earnest… far too perfect…!! Sasaki-senpai, who becomes aware of his feelings early on, gradually closes the distance between himself and Miyano. And yes—he unexpectedly begins learning about BL as well… When it comes to sharing your interests in real life, figuring out how much you can talk about and where to draw the line can be surprisingly difficult, but having more kindred spirits is always a happy thing…. Calling him “Myaa-chan” is unbearably cute…!! I recommend taking a deep breath before reading, just in case you start to run out of oxygen (＾＾).
