Kobunsha BL Comics “His Little Amber” is the title I’ll be introducing!

Below is an excerpt from the back cover. This post includes impressions and reviews that touch on the story! If you just want a quick idea of what it’s about, I’d be happy if you read only the red text and highlighted parts.

Koshiro, a mysterious and beautiful young man who can transform into a leopard, is in love with Genji, a taciturn widower he lives with. On New Year’s Eve in 1999, Genji found Koshiro in the form of a small, young beast and took him in, raising him with care. It was supposed to be a case of unspoken feelings he cherished but couldn’t confess… yet when an unexpected change in his body occurs, he ends up receiving some rather intimate help from Genji—!?

A single, earnest unrequited love gradually transforms into something deeply dramatic.

I’ve loved every single world that Natsume Kazuki（ナツメカズキ） has created so far, and many of the stories tend to be bittersweet (purely my personal impression), sometimes even featuring slightly unsettling elements tied to the underworld. Genji, who combines striking good looks with the depth and charm that come from age, and Koshiro, who clumsily yet earnestly throws himself forward—just watching them exchange glances is enough to cause an emotional traffic jam, with feelings constantly overflowing and colliding. I love it…!!（a sudden confession）

You’ll be caught off guardby the sudden appearance of a leopard within the panels…!!

When Genji first took him in, he was a tiny leopard (incredibly adorable), but as time passes, he gradually grows into a large, magnificent leopard… and when he suddenly fills an entire panel, it can be quite startling. It’s especially surprising when you’ve gotten used to seeing him in human form. And yet, somehow, he still looks unmistakably like Koshiro—so lovable. So cute. It really makes you think, “Natsume-sensei’s power is incredible.” Truly amazing.

It ends right at the momentthat makes you desperately want to know what happens next…!!

Did you notice?（You probably already did）This title is actually the “upper volume”…!! But when it was released, it came out as an absolutely wonderful decision—both the upper and lower volumes were released simultaneously!!! It perfectly fulfilled the wishes of readers who wanted to know what happens next right away!! Pure joy!!! Of course, I bought them as a set (＾＾)

This isn’t just a story where someone is taken in and things turn steamy—true to Natsume-sensei’s work, the characters earnestly try to face their pasts, and it becomes heartbreakingly bittersweet… it genuinely brings tears to your eyes. With characters who have long hair or more revealing appearances, each overflowing with charm, the story is delightfully shaken up. There are even side characters who make you want to stack question marks—*are they a good person, or not?*—and it leaves you letting out an involuntary sigh. （I love it）

The lower volume will be introduced in a future blog post, so please look forward to it! Comparing and connecting it with the upper volume is part of the fun, so I highly recommend enjoying them together as a set (＾＾)
