Shu, a university student who works part-time at a bookstore in a shopping mall, becomes romantically involved with Chihiro, who works part-time at a café, after Chihiro passionately pursues him.

For Shu, who struggles with social interactions and finds customer service difficult, Chihiro is someone he can feel truly at ease with, thanks to his ever-friendly smile and the gentle way he cares for him.

Their first overnight date finally arrives. While they’re in bed together, Chihiro suddenly shows an unexpectedly sharp expression, almost like a different person, and it leaves Shu feeling unsettled.

The next morning, seeing Chihiro acting just as he always does, Shu begins to wonder if he had simply imagined it.

However, that moment becomes the turning point, and Shu’s growing sense that something is off about Chihiro becomes harder and harder to ignore…!?

I’m quite fond of the devoted, affectionate characters in Shizuma（シズマ）’s works, and my heart races every time I read one of their stories. But Chihiro-kun is something else entirely…!! Is he really a wolf…? With that question in mind, I excitedly kept reading to find out (^ω^). By the way, here’s another work by Shizuma-sensei that I introduced previously! I highly recommend it to anyone who enjoys supernatural mysteries and slightly horror-like scenes!

Shu works part-time at a bookstore and is the type of person who rarely shows his emotions through facial expressions and is quite shy around others. The way he diligently and seriously goes about his job is so earnest and endearing. Chihiro-kun, on the other hand, is his complete opposite—the cheerful, outgoing type who can smile and talk to just about anyone. Their story begins with how they meet while working part-time at the same shopping mall, eventually becoming a couple thanks to Chihiro-kun’s enthusiastic pursuit of Shu.

When he gets down,you’d think he’d become a dejected, puppy-like guy… but what if there’s more to him…??

After they start dating, the two gradually grow closer. Then comes their first overnight date. You might expect a sweet and heartwarming scene, but instead, Shu is left completely bewildered when Chihiro-kun makes an expression he has never seen before. He starts to feel uneasy, wondering what happened to Chihiro-kun’s usual cute, friendly smile... But when he wakes up the next morning, Chihiro-kun is wearing his familiar smile again… Shu’s confused expression in this scene is just too adorable… I can’t get enough of it (lol).

Chihiro-kun Has Been Putting on an Act This Whole Time!

Chihiro-kun often worried that people would think he was angry if he didn’t keep smiling, so he deliberately put on a smile when interacting with friends and those around him. He tried his best to hide his true feelings, determined to keep up the act even after he started dating Shu-kun. But deep down, what he really wanted was a relationship where he could show his true self without worrying that the other person would leave him.

One of my favorite details is the moments when he reveals that piercing gaze, which speaks volumes about Chihiro-kun’s true feelings. As I read, I honestly found it painful to think about how emotionally exhausting it must be to keep up an act rather than speak from the heart. I couldn’t help but wish for the day when he can share everything and finally live a little more freely… And yet, Chihiro-kun’s intense stare when he shows his true self is pretty scary (lol). I absolutely love it…! I also adore how cute he is when he’s putting on his usual act!!

Will these two eventually become people who can be completely open and honest with each other? I’d love for you to read the story and find out for yourself…!! Honestly, this has become one of those works where I’m hoping for a sequel because I want to see even more sweet, lovey-dovey moments between them! Please…!!! I’d be so happy if we could see more of their story someday (*ﾉωﾉ)
